Welcome to the Department of Geography and Sociology and the new academic semester. We are looking forward to a busy 2009 with a number of key developments that take forward our ambitious teaching and research plans, including the appoinment of new staff. We are delighted to welcome Dr Kean Birch, who joined the department in February 2009.
